New in 2010! Sherlock Holmes comes to Cambridge, OH in a case written by local playwright Anne Chlovechok. The game’s afoot in Cambridge, Ohio where you will have a suspense-filled encounter with world-renowned detective Sherlock Holmes in historic downtown Cambridge, site of the Dickens Victorian Village and Dickens Characters.

Beginning at 5 p.m., enjoy the annual historic Guernsey County Courthouse holiday kickoff program filled with music and fun. More fun follows at 6 p.m. with the much-loved holiday parade sponsored by Cambridge Main Street. This year’s theme is A Child's Christmas Dream. Information: 740-439-2238.

Take an enchanted Easter train ride on the Byesville Scenic Railway. Victorian ladies serve tea and desserts as passengers learn about Easter traditions from authentic coal miners. Everyone can join in the spirit of the era by dressing the part too. (Optional) The Easter Bunny makes his way around the train to visit with children as they show off their decorated straw hat or Victorian fan. Tickets are available at Main Street School Supply and Country Bits & Pieces. A FREE straw hat and/or Victorian fan are available with the purchase of each child’s ticket. Guernsey County Courthouse Christmas Lights and Music Show

November through mid-January Olde England and history come alive in Historic Downtown Cambridge each December! Stroll Wheeling Avenue and enjoy the sights, sounds, and aromas unique to England in the Dickens time period of 1830-1850. Let the life-sized Victorian vignettes take you back through time and show you what life was like. Browse the unique shops, enjoy "A Christmas Carol" at the Cambridge Performing Arts Center and warm up with a meal served to you by waitresses in full Dickens dress. The Holiday activities are endless during this month long celebration. Enjoy Victorian Tea at The Colonel Taylor Bed & Breakfast, take in a concert by the Cambridge Singers or enjoy the sounds of the season with the Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra.

Cambridge Rhythm and Arts Walk
A celebration of arts, entertainment and downtown Cambridge's unique atmosphere on the fourthFriday of every month from May through November. Look for painted chairs that mark participating retailers, who offer extended hours and specials throughout the event. FREE entertainment throughout the evening, along with artist on hand demonstrating and/or selling their work. Hours are 5pm-8pm.

National Road Yard Sale
Cambridge Main Street is making plans to take part in the National Road Yard Sale May 31st. Community members are invited to set up and sell yard sale items on downtown sidewalks from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The National Road Yard Sale began 2006, which was the 200th anniversary of the National Road, also known as U.S. Route 40. Designated as an All American Road National Scenic Byway, the National Road stretches 824 miles from Baltimore, Maryland to St. Louis, Missouri, passing through six states including Ohio.

There is no charge for setting up at the National Road Yard Sale, but registration is required. Anyone interested in setting up must call The Attic Trunk at 740-432-4013 to reserve a space by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 29.

National Road Bike Show
National Road Riders and Cambridge Main Street join together for a day for the entire family. Tempt your taste buds with ribs from several vendors and vote on your favorite. The motorcycle show of approximately 100 bikes will also allow fan voting. Live entertainment throughout the day. This year's featured event is the visit of Jaxon Fiffe of Easy Rider fame. Cambridge Run & Countryside Ride
The Cambridge Downtown Classic is a 5-K and 10-K run over a challenging and enjoyable course. Registration is $15.00 if postmarked by July 14th and $18.00 after the 14, or day-of-the-race. The race starts at 8:00 A.M. Trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall and age categories. T-shirts are given to all pre-registered runners.

The Countryside Ride is a 25 mile and 45 mile bicycle tour from downtown Cambridge to the beautiful Salt Fork State Park. The tour begins at approximately 10:30 A.M. Riders will have lunch at Salt Fork beach and return to downtown for refreshments. Registration is $20.00 and includes T-shirt, lunch.

23rd Annual Cambridge Classic Cruise-In
Saturday - 2:00pm - 8:00pm Drawing thousands of spectators to Historic Downtown Cambridge, this car show features over 275 cars and trucks, ranging from the early 1900s to present. Voted one of the 10 best downtown car shows by Crusin' Times magazine. Vehicle registration is $5.00. Judging begins at 3:30, awards presentation at 7:30. Sponsored by Cambridge Classic Ford.
